Three Counties Championship Show 2015 Critique

I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge this 2015 Three Counties Championship Show. On the whole I was pleased with my entry. I do think we need to watch weakness creeping in to hindquarters. We also have to make sure that we keep size and substance. Keeping in mind that both were needed for the deerhound to do the job he was bred for.

Puppy Dog. (4)

1. Grimshaw’s Greyflax Domino to Jamalison. Big strong puppy. Harsh coat . Good
length of back and rise over loin. Well ribbed. Excellent length from hip to hock making for a strong hindquarter. Slightly upright in forearm. Moved out with drive .

  1. Trotman & Dockree’s Stainlonan Pageant of Penherald. A very pleasing young puppy of correct proportions. Deep chest, correct lay of shoulder. Excellent strong rear assembly for one so young. A little playful on the move, but he was enjoying himself

  1. Grimshaw’s Greyflax The Jazz Singer to Jamalison. Dark coated well made young hound. Elegant head set on strong neck. Deep well ribbed body. Good length from hip to hock. Well set tail. A little close behind on the move. Would have liked more slope on pasterns.
